Our Story

If this is your first visit, let’s tell you a little bit about us.

netpama is a careful blend of everything that is good about sharing what you see, hear and feel on-line in Brighton and Hove City. Modern minimalist décor, kick ass technology, tasty snacks and friendly hospitality. All this melds together to create the unique netpama experience.

It all started way back in 2002 when the existing Internet café and LAN gaming centre business owner stopped paying his rent and then did a runner!! He also made a mess of the place causing the shop to be empty for about a year. My Dad is the owner and was not pleased.

The internet and LAN gaming centre had been used by international students, travellers, internet novices and as a haunt for local youth. It was very useful in the community. Soon my dad was getting asked to reopen the centre. We talked and my wife and I decided to take the job on. We left our successful careers in architecture and finance. Both for the excitement of working together on a new project and for the chance to help our local community.

We all enjoy fast Internet in the comfort of our own home but what about when you are in town? Maybe you want to check if that bargain really is a bargain, read your email or what ever on-line!

Going to an internet cafe doesn’t have to be boring and shameful. It should be a pleasure not a chore. No one wants crappy computers, slow internet connections, extra charges for web cams and head phones, all while being squished into tiny spaces like a sardine.

The idea was to make it modern, comfortable and safe and to give Internet access with a home feel netpama is a quality neighbourhood gathering spot for the community. It is for people, locally, nationally and internationally who have broadband at home but need access in our town.

We also decided to emphasise Lan and Internet gaming using the latest games and technology. To provide for our local youth. So that they want to be here, rather than out on the streets, bored and ripe for trouble. netpama is full of teenagers 'fragging' their mates. They 'pwn'!

Our name, netpama, was designed to show that idea. interNet Pa*pa & Ma*ma. Get it :)
